On March 10, 2019, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited Kim Chaek University of Technology on the occasion of the election of deputies to the 14^th Supreme People’s Assembly. It was less than half a year after he visited the university and had a photo session with the teachers and researchers of the university on the 70^th anniversary of its founding.

Participating in the elections, everybody wanted to see the Supreme Leader at their constituencies, wondering in which constituency he would vote. Of all the polling stations he chose the one of Kim Chaek University of Technology and voted for a senior official of the university, candidate to the Supreme People’s Assembly. On casting a vote, he said warmly that after thinking a lot where to vote he had chosen to visit the university, and added that he had nowhere else to go on such an important occasion.

The Supreme Leader said that the university was playing a very important role on all major fronts of socialist economic construction, and encouraged them to work harder as the most reliable support of the Party and as engine of the country’s science and technology to make a breakthrough in developing science and education, revitalizing the economy and improving living standards of the people.

His image was reminiscent of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il whose care for the university was etched in every chapter of its history.

Stressing once again the position and importance of the university in building a powerful socialist country, Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the orientation and ways for the university to follow. He also bestowed great solicitude on the university for its effort to improve educational equipment, research facilities and information technology.

All teachers and researchers of the university are working enthusiastically to be worthy of his great care and trust.
