Bear Presented to Kim Il Sung University

(2021.3.30.)

One day in late December Juche 36 (1947) Kim Il Sung, on coming home for lunch, was informed by a platoon leader of his guards that there was a big bear gifted by some local people to him.

Seeing the bear which seemed big enough to occupy the whole yard of his house, he told the platoon leader to take it to the biology faculty of Kim Il Sung University, saying it would be greatly helpful to researchers and students in their zoological studies.

The platoon leader, surprised at his words, suggested it would be unfair to let the researchers and students use it as it was associated with the sincerity of the people for him.

Now the President said: I don’t think our people will feel sorry if they know that I let the bear be used for the study and development of our country’s zoology. If we are to develop education and train national cadres by ourselves we must provide good teaching aids while furnishing educational facilities well.

This was how the bear was delivered to the university and was made into a stuffed specimen to be used in education of the rising generation.

It is one of the teaching aids associated with the great care of the President who always paid deep concern to the development of education.
